MEHDI AOUICHAOUI
BIO:
Mehdi Aouichaoui is a French 2D animator, storyboard artist, and character designer based in Tokyo, Japan. He has contributed to notable anime productions, including “Dragon Ball Super: Broly,” “Dragon’s Ball Daima”, “My Hero Academia,” “One Piece”, “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Ranking of Kings,” “Boruto,” “Star wars Visions S1”, and others…
Mehdi studied animation at Supinfocom Rubika, where he acquired foundational skills in 3D animation. After relocating to Japan, he decided to switch career into 2D animation.
He worked with Yapiko, a Franco-Japanese studio, before joining Studio 4°C, and then became Freelancer working for major Anime productions.
In his role as a key animator (genga), Aouichaoui is responsible for creating the primary poses that define movement and expression in animation sequences. This involves working closely with the Director and interpreting his vision while bringing some ideas to the animation.
